Integrating Government Data Sets to Maximize Eligibility and Savings
UMass Medical School integrates state and federal data sets to determine Medicaid recipients who are entitled to increased federal benefits, including Medicare and Social Security payments. Data integration can determine missed or erroneously denied federal benefits, resulting in state savings while ensuring that recipients receive the benefits to which they’re entitled.

Transforming Integrated Medicaid and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Data into Actionable Information
UMass Medical School has created an HCBS Policy Lab and is working with the Massachusetts Office of Medicaid and Executive Office of Elder Affairs to integrate such data sources as Medicaid eligibility, Medicaid claims, frail elder HCBS case management and Comprehensive Data Set assessment data to better understand delivery of the services.

Maximizing Individual Benefits and State Savings for Medicaid Programs
This poster presentation shows how UMass Medical School works with state Medicaid programs to customize and implement business methodologies to maximize benefits for individuals and savings for states. The medical school’s collaboration with state and federal agencies has resulted in two national corrections of federal benefits systems in the past five years that led to increased benefits for individuals and increased Medicaid savings and revenue in all states.
