The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) has named Paul Jeffrey, PharmD, a pharmacy director in UMass Medical School’s Commonwealth Medicine division, chair of its Professional Practice Committee.
Jeffrey is a pharmacy director in the Office of Clinical Affairs within the Center for Health Policy and Research in Commonwealth Medicine. In this position, he serves as director of pharmacy for the Massachusetts Medicaid program, MassHealth. Jeffrey provides broad clinical support to MassHealth, and has introduced innovative programs in the areas of opioids and pain management, as well as behavioral and mental health.
The Professional Practice Committee advises AMCP on practice issues, develops educational programming, convenes expert work groups, and issues policy statements. AMCP is a national professional association of pharmacists and health care practitioners who develop and provide clinical, educational and business management services on behalf of more than 200 million Americans covered by a managed pharmacy benefit.
Jeffrey assumed his role at the AMCP 27th Annual Meeting in San Diego on April 8. He will serve a one-year term.
