Dr. Éamonn O’Moore named keynote speaker for 11th Academic Health & Policy Conference on Correctional Health

The eleventh Academic & Health Policy Conference on Correctional Health will feature Dr. Éamonn O’Moore, the newly appointed National Leader for Health & Justice of Public Health England, as the event’s keynote speaker. This annual conference brings together key leaders in the field of criminal justice health care research and will be held in Houston, Texas March 22-23, 2018.  

Dr Éamonn O’Moore is currently the director of the UK Collaborating Centre for the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Health in Prisons Programme and is a well known expert in the area of prison health. O’Moore has written national guidelines on health care management in prisons and played a central role in the development of national surveillance systems for infectious diseases in prisons not only in England, but internationally as well.  

The conference is hosted by the Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice Health and draws attendees from over 100 correctional and academic institutions across the globe. It provides a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary forum on correctional health care for researchers, clinicians, educators and policymakers.
