UMass Medical School to present correctional health managed care and consulting services at the National Commission on Correctional Health Care Conference

The  UMass Medical School Health and Criminal Justice Program will be exhibiting at the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) Conference Oct. 21-24 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our team will discuss the correctional health partnerships and opportunities for health care organizations, correctional institutions, specialty physicians, researchers and government bodies.

Visit Booth #120 at NCCHC to learn how the Health and Criminal Justice Program is advancing health care for justice-involved populations. We offer managed health care services, technical assistance and consultative services to support the planning and delivery of medical, mental health, and substance abuse services for incarcerated populations.

Our team has nearly 20 years of experience providing managed health care services within state and Federal Bureau of Prisons correctional facilities in the areas of clinical support, provider network development, third-party administration, pharmacy utilization and formulary management, and quality improvement initiatives, and risk management.

The opportunity to provide care at federal prison health centers is now available to specialty physicians located and licensed in Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Arizona. We are seeking specialty physicians in many practice areas including neurology, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine, dermatology, and oncology.

We can work with payers, providers, correctional institutions and government bodies to focus on key areas of correctional health, including infectious disease (Hepatitis C, HIV, and Tuberculosis), behavioral health, special populations, health care reform, pharmacy, and telemedicine.

Also on display at Booth #120 is the Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice Health (ACCJH), a member organization aimed at advancing the science and practice of health care in the criminal justice system. Supported and managed by the Health and Criminal Justice Program, ACCJH hosts an annual conference where stakeholders can learn about emerging correctional health research and policy.

The 12th Annual Academic & Health Policy Conference on Correctional Health will be held March 21-22 at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
