Join Commonwealth Medicine’s Rachel Gershon for a free webinar on new initiatives coming to MassHealth

Key Medicaid decision-makers can keep a finger on the pulse of MassHealth, the Massachusetts Medicaid program, with the help of a new webinar titled, “MassHealth: The Basics – 2019 Webinar,” presented by Commonwealth Medicine’s Rachel Gershon, Senior Associate of Health Law and Policy under our Public and Private Health Solution. Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) is hosting the webinar, which covers recent reforms to MassHealth, eligibility data, costs, and more.

This webinar is free and will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, 11 am-12 pm. We invite you to register for the event here.

MassHealth provides health care coverage for more than 1.8 million members. Over the past four years, its enrollment has stayed relatively stable. From 2016 to 2017, growth in MassHealth spending moderated. As more members of the Commonwealth come to rely on the versatile coverage this program provides, MassHealth is evolving to meet the new needs of the populations it serves – and policymakers and administrators are well-served to stay on top of changes to the program.

“MassHealth: The Basics – 2019 Webinar” is based on a recently updated chart pack, “MassHealth: The Basics – Facts and Trends,” that Commonwealth Medicine experts created for BCBSMA. It explores questions around eligibility, spending, trends, and informative infographics.

This webinar also presents a unique opportunity for professionals working in Medicaid and beneficiaries interested in learning more about the program to discover new initiatives coming to MassHealth, including new programs designed to fight the opioid crisis, changes to health care delivery through Accountable Care Organizations, and new community-based supports.
