Commonwealth Medicine Office of Clinical Affairs director selected for Milbank Memorial Fund Fellows Program

Jatin Dave, MD, MPH, chief medical officer for MassHealth and director of Commonwealth Medicine’s Office of Clinical Affairs, has been selected by the Milbank Memorial Fund for its 2022–2023 Fellows Program. The Fund is an endowed operating foundation that invests in the development of state leaders who are committed to advancing population health and health equity in their communities.

The 10-month program for senior executive branch and legislative leaders equips them with “new knowledge and evidence-based approaches to specific population health issues, expands their insight and leadership capacities, and creates meaningful connections with a network of colleagues from across the country,” according to the Fund, which was founded in 1905.

“We heartily congratulate Jatin on this prestigious opportunity, but are not surprised by his selection,” said Commonwealth Medicine Executive Vice Chancellor Lisa M. Colombo, DNP, MHA, RN. “Jatin is the primary clinical liaison between MassHealth and Commonwealth Medicine and a key part of the MassHealth executive team, in addition to helping guide our clinical affairs leadership team.

“He will provide keen insights and perspectives as a Milbank Memorial Fund fellow and strengthen his vast medical, clinical, policy, and strategic knowledge by engaging with the program’s other esteemed participants.”

“I am deeply honored to be selected as a Milbank Memorial Fund fellow, allowing me to apply knowledge gained through my training and concurrent roles at Commonwealth Medicine and MassHealth, especially as it relates to population health and health equity,” Dave said.

“I am equally excited about expanding my competencies through engagement with these talented senior leaders, who will offer new viewpoints that I am certain will enhance my work in promoting a vision and agenda for healthier communities.”

Dave trained in internal medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed a general internal medicine fellowship at New York University. He then completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Harvard University. He also received a master’s degree in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health and earned bachelor’s degrees in medicine and in surgery at Gujarat University in Gujarat, India.
